Breathing is life.

Wednesday March 20, 2019. Doors open at 6:30 pm, presentation starts at 7 pm.

Christine Bauman, MA

Breathing is the most important thing we do. Look to the body’s
priorities: 30 days without food; 7 days without water but only 5
minutes without air – and we are toast. We completely ignore our
breathing until we struggle to breathe and then it has /all /our attention.

Your breath responds to and adjusts immediately according to mental or
internal stimulus or external stimulus. If you have a lot of worry,
illness or pain in your life, your breathing is /always/ in stress mode.
If your breathing is always poor, the impact on your body and your
mental health is wide-ranging and can be profound.

Do you breathe from your mouth? Do your shoulders and chest move when
you inhale? Do you hold your breath? Wake up with a dry mouth or
headache? Are you often very tired without apparent reason?

Do you have allergies, asthma, snoring, sleep apnea, anxiety, skin
issues, fatigue, high blood pressure, brain fog? They are ALL impacted
by poor breathing.

So, if “YES” is coming up to these questions, come out to the next
Questers’ meeting. I will lead you through evaluating your own
breathing. Learn what healthy breathing is and how you can change your
breathing on the spot to improve it. Through improving your breathing,
you can improve chronic conditions, in some cases, in extra-ordinary ways.

Chris Bauman was the first Canadian Buteyko Breathing Educator, the
founding president of the Buteyko Breathing Educators Association and a
clinician for the only Canadian medical research study on Buteyko.
Buteyko Breath Retraining was developed by a Ukrainian doctor in the 1950s.
